Banger Racing

Just got back from banger racing at Arlington (nr Eastbourne, Sussex). Excellent night. Anyone been? Anyone a regular?? Lindsey loved it, I recommend it as a fun evening! Demolition Derby BIG THUMGS UP! Great atmosphere and good food too.

Banger racing is great fun.

 

I used to race, many years ago, when I was in the position of being able to get cars cheaply.

 

Last time I saw it, was at Ashley Heath, near Ringwood, a couple of years ago. I'd certainly recommend it.

Yeah, it's great fun to do. Not sure I'd pay to watch it though.

My Dad used to own a scrap yard so I got cars for nothing. They're still worth the same in scrap value after you've totalled then at the banger races

Back then they didn't make you have a rollcage, they probably do now. We used to just remove the windows and lights, secure the drivers door with the chopped off passenger side seat belt, and race! I never used to bother actually removing the door glass, too much hassle. I just used to wind the windows down.

 

My record was three cars rolled in one day!

I used to have a lot of friends who raced at shipham down near cheddar,That was great fun,Gave you and immense relief from stress being able to drive someone into the barrier!,Makes up for being sat behind all those road captains on the motorway!
