Disconnecting the Battery and Clifford alarms

Willson

Recommended Posts

Whenever I try to remove the negative contact from my main battery, the bloody car alarm goes off.

It was properly disabled with the code.

Any ideas........Please ! These bloody clifford alarms are too good sometimes !

Cheers,

Hi Matt, I was hoping you might be around .

It's a Concept 600.

I've had an idea, but am reluctant to annoy the neighboors again just yet.

When I'm undoing the connection, the alarm goes off before I've fully taken the connection off. I turn it off the siren with the remote then tighten up the connection and sigh

I'm thinking that if I fully disconnect the terminal, then silence the siren it might play ball.

Thanks,

Okay, I seem to have sorted it !:)

I didn't try my plan, I drove somewhere and it seems that after a drive it will let you disconnect the battery :conf:

So I drove home, and it's now disconnected. :)

On with the install..............

Sorry fo rthe delay, but I'm glad you've sorted it...

You shouldn't have any problems disconnecting the battery with a C600, providing the alarm is disarmed - Make sure it hasn't re-armed by the time you disconnect the battery. - To be sure, put the alarm in valet mode.

Anyway, unimportant now...

The reason for disconnecting the battery is for safty reasons only. There will be permanent lives down there somewhere.
