Jezz
I always do standing starts in manual mode. Timed using drive and using manual, manual was 0.4 faster (4.9) obviously without the (dangerous) stock traction control on. Her ass wanders over a bit, but man it looks and feels great taking off sideways!!
chilli
It would be interesting to know what difference RLTC can make on a stock (or fairly stock) 0-60 time, since half of the problem is getting the power down cleanly, anyone got any before and after figures? Jezz
I'd guess with rltc (my next purchase from leon!) the launch will be so much smoother. I'm reckoning 0.2-0.4 secs. Correct me if i'm wrong guys?!
chilli
Yeah I imagine it could well be worth that much, I've heard that full throttle gear shifting is also worth 0.1s per shift on a manual too, sounds a touch scary though lol
JohnA
The auto can do full-throttle gearshifting, if it's in 'manual' mode and the TRAC fuse is pulled out. Nasty on the box though. It's only got 4 gears by the way, and normally the ECU does it's best to start in 2nd, change to 3rd immediately and stick on 4th soon after. No wonder it feels so sluggish if you don't use kickdown...
