Was just wondering what peoples veiws on machining both faces and installing the turbo without a gasket. Won't be fitting it with sealer, just face to face. Its like saying if you have a brand new exhaust i dont nwed to use a gasket as the both metal faces are perfect. Aa above just get the correct gasket. We check them with a proper straight edge, if they are not perfect we have them machined, both faces MUST be perfectly flat, you want the maximum contact area, the last T4 turbo we did with a gasket (the apprentice fitted it) lasted 40 miles and the turbo was torqued down etc, we removed the gasket and never had a problem.
