Boosting in 5th or 6th gear...

I went to Bluewater last saturday for a spending spree and i noticed that whenever i was driving in 5th or 6th gear at around 3000rpm putting pedal to metal ... I would boost to a max of 0.7bar and the rpm wouldnt increase, unless i wacked it down to 3rd or 4th gear to increase the rpm and back quickly into 5th ~ 6th gear which would then boost up to 1bar..

Is this normal? seems strange as to why i couldnt accelerate and obtain max boost in 5th or 6th gear unless i down shifted a gear or two.. Anyone else noticed this?

if you think about it, when u put pedal to metal in 1st or 2nd gear, you can easily get up to 1bar before the second turbo kicks in.. why cant u do this in the higher gears? could it be that there wasnt enough pressure in the pressure tank while in the high gears to open the some of the actuators?

I thought that 3000 rpm was the dip where the second turbo was pre spooled?

I know when im in 5th or 6th gear and i floor it at around 3000 rpm it is very laggy and only boosts to 0.75 but if i keep my foot in the revs slowly go up and hit 3800 rpm and the second turbo comes online and it boost up to 1.05.
