fisherjohn
Any ideas guys After my second engine rebuild circa 6 months ago - no power steering. It is very heavy and needs effort to turn. Now it is not the belt ( cambelt ) otherwise there would be many other problems as one belt drives all. Have removed the reservoir and flushed thru with new fluid, also cleaned the reservoir to make sure that filter is clear, it is, when flushing and engine started the fluid is sucked thru the pump and dispelled rapidly which i assume means the pump is working ok. The vacuum pipes are not split or incorrectly fitted as i checked against another car at Pod on sunday. I have 19 inch rims with usual low profiles and realise that it would be a little heavier than standard however mine needs real effort to turn at slower speeds and progressively less at higher. I have a N/A so know that it is definately not right. Any ideas from the real mechanics on here !!
merckx
Not sure if you've got any bits of the dash apart and some of the plugs removed near the radio section. Cannot remember which one it is but if you unplug one of them it will cut your power steering!
