Aero-M
I have read that the TT autobox is different to the n/a. Also that it's better as it changes gear better, and has another gear. If this is true, would there be any advantage to fitting one in my n/a auto? and would it work? Martyn. caseys
Both autoboxes have 3 gears + Overdrive. Ratio is potentially different iirc. Not sure on the rest of the info
JustGav
Electronically there are a few difference with regards the solenoids, so I'm not sure it would be a straight forward swap.
Aero-M
Electronically there are a few difference with regards the solenoids, so I'm not sure it would be a straight forward swap. But quite possible to do? Would it be of any benefit?
JustGav
But quite possible to do? Would it be of any benefit? Not really, because you would need to understand which bits do what.... and it isn't something you want to guess at either. N/A TT
sdistc
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=554660 Very useful thread on SF.com about swapping components of NA & TT autobox.
Aero-M
Thanks for the replies and diagram. As for the sf thread it seems to be much better with the tt box rather than the n/a box for us n/a owners from what has been said. The only reason I thought of it was, my mechanic had said he thinks I will be needing a new box, and because of what I had heard about the tt box I thought that might have been a good plan, I would like to go na-tt one day anyway. Might just be best putting another n/a box in for now and if I do go na-tt in the future the tt box can go in then without having to do any messing around with it.
