i think they actually cut the fuel supply mate,

so the car stops,

rarther than letting it run over 1.2bar (or whatever they are set to)

then it would run lean.

I think what your talking about is boost cut. Thats what the FCD stops, but as far as i know the FCD fools the ECU into thinking that its only boosting at 1 bar when really its boosting at 1.2 bar. So my question is, If its doing this then the car must be under fuelled at anything above 1 bar?

Also what the op asked. Is there a better FCD than the HKS? i think i read that greddy makes a better one but can't see them for sale anywhere.

I'm also going BPU and looking at this, from what i have read i believe it stops the fuel cut at high boost, so i'm assuming it just overrides the ECU's built in fuel cut and allows the car to boost higher, i.e. not fooling just overiding (i think).

As for a better one, some people say there is a better one, forget the brand now (but know its not a Greddy one), however Jurgen is doing my work for me and says to get a HKS (and he's done a good few BPU's before)

I found this in Homers BPU guide (hope he doesn't mind me using it)

2) Fuel cut defender

The stock ecu will initiate fuel cut when boost pressure reaches 1 bar for a 3 second period. In order to stop this, a device is needed in order to trick the ecu into thinking the boost pressure is lower.

(See quick link for further details)
