Oil Cooler Location

I want to fit an Oil cooler which i have waiting to go on, however on the nearside is the UK tranny cooler and i dont really wish to block the flow for this?

So the question is, can i fit where the original SMIC used to be and run extended oil lines across the front of the car to here?

Would the length of the oil lines cause any problems?

Is the thermostat better near the oil filter or the new cooler?

not to familiar with the uk spec but i'll get the ball rolling, would it not be better to move the tranny cooler over to the smic location thats where i put mine on a j-spec all the pipes are over that side anyway i cut mine down and used 10mm straight couplings to angle them to the smic side, you would then have plenty of room for the oil cooler, running engine oil pipes over to smic side would be quite tricky and you would HAVE to make sure they did'nt rub anywhere, you'de have to make sure you kept the runs straight to avoid flow restrictions and increasing your oil pressure unnecesarily, the stat location would'nt matter to much, however i would'nt put it by the cooler if you did fit it on the smic side
