ShamelessTT
Well today i attempted to fix the heater blower on my g/fs Renault 5 campus i have been doing up myself over the last few weeks since buying it for her to learn to drive in (everything from welding / spraying to general servicing lol) Anyway after purchase i noticed the heater fan is not working, it gets nice and hot in the car when driving as theres airflow coming in, but the fans not working in any speed on the dial. Also you can also make it cold if you like, or varing degrees of between hot/ cold. Anyway ive had the whole thing to bits today, heres what ive tried! 1. I checked the motor directly to the battery and its fine, spins well. 2. I checked the voltage at the point where the motor connects and it ranges form 0v to +12 dependent on speed selection. 3. I checked the amps @ the motor , always 0 not matter what i put my DVM on. (This sounds completely wrong to me) 4. I took the switch to peices, read all the wiring diagrams and cleaned up all connections. There are no resistors or relays mentioned in the diagrams in the Haines guide im using. The wiring guide shows the 3 speeds (voltage inputs) coming into the switch, then from the switch into the Rheostat (Temp swtich, manual daniel type) and then to the motor. Nothing i could find obviously wrong and the fact that the motor is getting +12 but 0 amps sounds very wrong to me. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help, Si
Jimmer
Bad earth? Check the resistance between the Motor -ve and Battery -ve.
