Amir khan
Hello, am having some problems with my horn, after changing my steering wheel the horn was working fine, I cant figure out why its not working. The fuses are fine, but I cant figure out how i can check if there is a break in the circuit, Should I be getting a 12v current through the centre of the steering column and the outside is ground? If someone has any wiring diagram for the horn to help me isolate the problem or any advice that would be great thanks!
suprasurrey
The horn circuit works by switching the negative so you won`t see any voltage. Try connecting the two wires together, if this works your horn push button is faulty. Make sure one of the horn push button connections goes to a good grounding point on the steering wheel boss. You could also connect the negative side of the horn to the chassis to make sure it is working;)

Amir khan
Thats the understanding I have also, But I only have one spade connection wire coming from the back of the hub. Iv separately checked the horn button and thats working fine
suprasurrey
If you have only one wire present from the steering column then you will need to earth the other side of the switch to the steering wheel boss. Does the horn work if you connect the wire you have to the steering column?

suprasurrey
Where abouts in Berkshire are you? I don`t think that I can help any further without actually seeing the problem first hand. If you`re not too far away I`d be happy to take a look, pm me your location and I`ll get back to you tomorrow:d

Jamesy
Iv got same problem. However mine was caused by replacing my a/bag steering wheel and boss with a momo wheel and non airbag boss. Did yours have an air bag before? If so u may have the wrong boss in which case u need the 'plunger' thing that operates the horn.
