dane_stone
Hi all I've just bought a Xbox 360 Elite (wehay) and want to play online with it using wireless connection. I was wondering can I connect my 360 to my laptop and use the laptops wireless instead of me buying the xbox 360 wireless dongle for £55. after buying the xbox need to say me some money. A friend said he's heard that it can be done but can't find any info and as the supra massive know everything thought i'd ask. Cheers all

tDR
Ethernet cable from Xbox 360 -> Laptop (any will do, will auto detect crossover mode), then share your wireless connection by going to Network Connections -> Right-click your wireless connection -> properties -> advanced tab. Turn off any firewall stuff in that tab too or set an exception for your Local Area Connection. You'll need to turn off any standby mode rubbish for your laptop so your connection doesn't drop mid gaming session. I've done this to get online with my 360 whilst at the parents over Xmas - at home I have it wired into my router. Cheers, Brian.
