BlackWatch66
Hey all, im currently having my stock Jspec Tubbies reconditioned and have been asked if I would like them Hybridised. It seems that the majority on the forum believe that this is a pointless exercise. I just want to find out if there is any benefit from hybrid J-specs?? The car is currently a BPU '93 Jspec TT Auto with 40k on the clock, and I DON'T have an aftermarket ECU etc. Any thoughts or experiences greatfully recieved.... legendswraith
Depends who is doing the recon and what they mean by hybridisation. Some will consider putting the uk spec hot side wheel in as a hybridisation, personally i don't. If you have them rebuilt stock jspec they will handle upto 1.2bar fine and will spin up at a decent rate, if you have the uk turbine then you can push the pressure up more but the spool will be slower. If you are getting them rebuilt though you may as well get the hybridisation done as long as its a proper upgrade and not a turbine wheel fob off job. Something like a T03-60 compressor with the uk spec turbine and shaft maybe?
TLicense
I would just get them done as stock. That way you know what you've got, you know it will work and will cause you a lot less headache's in the long run trying to explain to potential purchasers and internet pedants what it is that you've got.
