dini_the_owl
I got a phone call today from my missus whilst i was hard at work,She said to me that there were three contractors wanting to dig part of our drive up to replace some metal gas piping dropping down from the gas box to a plastic type, under some new laws. I had my drive done 3 years ago and the part which it will affect is a tarmac area which was also done at the same time, the guys said they would "patch it up but there would be a colour difference" I said no way your not touching that, For one i have had no prior notice from anyone about this and secondly i would have to have written conformation that the whole area would have to be done before anything is touched. They have done a few houses already on our road and just wndered the implications to refusing this preventitive maintenance! I assume they would probably cut me off if i dont comply....just wondered if anyone else has had the same experience. andy
madmarf
thats happening down here aswell, there digging up loads of drives. you can get compensation or everything put back if you contact the local councill, so long as you own the house though
Aero-M
Surely the council would have sent a letter, informing you of the work they wish to carry out. I would be worried it is a con. Taking the metal pipe away for scrap maybe?
