Todd
Had 2 tyres fitted today and on pickup noticed the following on the wheel. The mark you see on the lip feels like it's been sanded down but the bloke when questioned pretty much made out that it could have been like that when it came in. Now I know every blemish on that car and it's wheels and yes the wheels are already kerbed but that to me is not kerb damage, it's not corroded and it's smooth to the touch? Anyone seen anything like that before? emailed the photos to my brother who is a tyre fitter on the west coast and he's positive it's been done on the tyre machine. Cheers
broomie
definately tyre machine damage! or a diamond egded curb!! but dont know what rights you have if you left the garage before spotting it/kicking off about it? good luck!

Todd
but dont know what rights you have if you left the garage before spotting it/kicking off about it? Kicked off when picking it up I plan to get the alloys refurbished anyway so it's not that big a problem, it was the attitude I was given when raising the issue that's pissed me off. broomie
it is extremely hard to fit low pro tyres to big wheels so is always worth spending extra to get a reputable fitting co to do it! ie. not kwik fit, sts, barrys tyres etc ! you get the idea! Todd
Used this garage for many moons without issue but new manager in place. As for Kwik Fit, the one I go to is first rate, supervisor is a total petrol head, treats every customers car like his own and can't praise him highly enough
far
I ALWAYS stand over the fitter when they are doing my rims and never leave wheels/tyres on site for some junior mechmonkey to bump and grind my rim
far
....did you pay by CC btw? Cancel the payment and let them chase you instead
Todd
All sorted, spoke to the owner and he has done what should have been done in the first place, apologised! Wheels are going to get refurbed anyway in the near future, just hate the way the lad was making me out to be some kind of chancer trying it on when the evidence was pretty obvious. Thanks for the input folks
