caseys
Got home hub + dec phone sat under my desk mate. Been sat there 12 months... I have no BT broadband. Free to you I'll also throw in a Vigor ADSL Router if you want it? Work are stopping subsidising my Businesss ADSL, so I've cancelled it all and sticking with my fibre
JustGav
Wow, thanks people... I shall have to put up a write of what I'm doing with them as it MAY interest some people. Will also make the relevant software and instructions if people want to do it themselves.

JustGav
Turning them into a femtocell or something? Sort of... they run as DECT hubs, wifi, SIP ATA, firewall, IDS, and ADSL modem (few other features but not worth using with the usb 1 interface)... It runs a fairly comprehensive OS which with a bit of tweaking here and there can run as a standard DECT base which you can then load dial plans and establish an intelligent call routing system. I'm hoping to find a way to integrate it into a functional IP based telephony system. My next step once I've got this going is to pair up a GSM gateway and route all mobile calls made from the system using my free minutes. The other beauty is that I can configure a sort of 'follow me' system. Using asterix for the VM and VOIP control. Longer term I will hook the VOIP system upto ALICE (My home automation system) as an additional interface into it. I also have a VOIP connection running at my folks place which routes calls down to me for processing. All on a standard DECT phone using a cisco 186 ATA unit. I had to use something simple since my dad isn't an IT person and is the type who picks up a phone and uses it, doesn't want to have to do anything fancy, hell he still has a motorola v3i and refuses to upgrade because he just worked out how to text on it last year. The v1's also support WDS so it is useful for boosting wireless, but I'm not using the wifi for anything other than VOIP traffic. In a nutshell all very geeky If anyone wants to use the home hub with ADSL other than BT or an alternative VOIP provider there is 'ways' of doing it as well I've discovered, happy to share the resources I've found, just ask.
