RedM
Every kettle that we buy seems to start leaking after a few months. Even when we get them replaced the replacements leak and so on. The criteria: 1. Must cost between £20 and £30 2. It must not leak or emit steam from unusual places! We've suffered leaks from the water level gauges and from around the on/off switch! Also, steam coming from underneath and the switch is not good. What do you recommend? For reference (and to please Michael) I have linked to our current kettle so you know what not to post up about. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-11521-Kettle-Stainless-capacity/dp/B00067T6NY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1228165335&sr=8-

Mike
Have you considered a matching kettle/toaster combo? or are you happy with your current toasting implement? I generally buy whatever the KenWood one is.... I've always had them and they never break. Charlotte
I have this one:- http://www.ethicalsuperstore.com/products/morphy-richards/stainless-steel-filter-kettle---stainless-steel/ It's really ace. I got it only because of the blue light not it's actual ability to boil water. It's quite heavy to lift though, with the filter thingy in the top. JustGav
:dontget:Why dont u buy an electrical waterheater, u know these little ones that stand on the kitchen table! :trust:U wont be disapointet! Those tefal instant water things? Got one, relegated to the cupboard... couple of issues 1. Filters don't last very long and aren't cheap 2. Water holder isn't big enough really 3. Might be instant hot but takes ages to dribble the water into the cup, so for more than the odd cup, the kettle is quicker. 4. Water just isn't as hot FACT (I tested with a thermometer, and came to the conclusion because the water stream is so slow as it drops into the cup it cools rapidly)
