Animal
My dad has just upgraded his TV and given me his old one (a huge Panasonic Viera thing). I had a quick play with it last night and realised I can link my PC up to it . Now, the question is; I am already running 2x24" LCD screens off a Nvidea 8800GT and it tells me I can only have 2 screens running at any one time. Is there a way to get the TV to run as well? Any software available, or would adding a second gfx card do it? It'd be total overkill, but really cool if I could have all 3 displays functioning at once. Can't wait to get home on Friday and try some games in full big-screen glory...
robin
You could run multiple graphics cards but one would probably end up being an old PCI one unless you fancied a nice SLi setup or something. Another option is to get a splitter box, but then you will have two monitors with the same image...
Multics
What kind of input does the telly have? Depends what you're doing on your PC tbh. If you're not bothered about gaming or high 3d performance you can get a Matrox card, 4 independent outs at max 1920x1200 each, single slot, fanless, low wattage. Animal
I was just messing around tbh and wondering what it would take to get all 3 running at once, just because. If I can run all 3 at once as individual displays, I will just for the sake of it, lol. I've got the tv plugged into the component out from the gfx card and the lcd's out from the two monitor sockets. The tv has about 4 scart sockets and the comenent RGB jacks. It would be cool to have videos playing through the tv whilst doing stuff on the other 2 screens, but other than that, I've no real need to have all 3 running. I only had a quick play with settings on Sunday as I had to drive to Cumbria first thing in the morning, but I'll have a better play on Friday. I can always set up a new profile in the Nvidea settings and switch between them. I'll be seeing what Grid & GTR2 look like on the big screen then. Cheers for the help.
