Willson
Apologies for the waaaay off topic thread... I recently cut some 14' leylandii trees down from the bottom of the garden and the two fence panels that are now exposed are falling apart. The posts seem quite good so I would like to just replace the panels. The rest of the fence is a dark brown color and I have the wood stain that was used. But when I look for fence panels online, they all seem to be more "orangey". Can I stain panels such as the one below to a dark brown, or do I need a different type of wood? TIA
Sharpie
The stain is dark brown so, you will be fine.

Ewen
A tip...if you buy new panels, sometimes they are still wet from anti-rot treatment. Let them dry out for a week or so before staining them with a darker colour. You may get an unexpected colour result if you dont. Obviously if its always raining, a week may need to be adjusted accordingly
