Multics
Right, I have this noise driving me mad for months now. At first I thought it was the clutch release bearing but I've been told it's probably the input shaft bearing in the gearbox. The noise is produced only when in neutral with the foot off the clutch pedal and also when driving with any gear in. When the clutch pedal is pressed, the noise goes away. Anyway, is it something that someone has replaced before? Any ideas how much is it likely to cost considering the whole gearbox has to be taken off? Thanks
edge
The bearings are quite cheap, it will be the labour that will be 99% of the cost. Think mine on my 6 speed getrag was less than £10 from toyota.
Multics
That's what I thought. I hope it's going to take a few more thousand miles until I get a TT transplant.
