Importing a car from USA

As some of you may know Im in Dubai most of the year these days and looking for a car that is just as fun as the supra!

 

Wanted to take the supra with me but decided the supra is too good to be used here on the not very supra friendly roads we have here!

 

So now looking for something like a corvette, mustang, viper etc and would appreciate if someone could point me to the right direction and let me know about someone who could purchase and send the car to me to Dubai, need a very clean car and prefer a 1998+

 

I know there are some American members here who might have an idea

I kind of looked into this earlier in the year after being in the States. I was shocked to see a Corvette Z06 for just $79k on a dealer forecourt. I also saw a 2006 Shelby 500 Mustang for a mere $28k on the road price at the same dealership!

 

When i got back I did a little research, this is to the UK though so bear that in mind.

 

You pay approx £1500 quid for shipment. Then a further 10% import tax on top of the Stateside purchase price. Followed by another £1k to register and MOT etc. Then on top of all that you add VAT.

 

Those figures are approx as from memory. As to what you pay in UAE I haven't a clue! I guess you need to check locally as to what import taxes you pay...

Cheers mate, Im totally familier with the expences in UK as I imported a few from Japan indluding my current supra, though in Dubai the import duty is only 5% and a few quid government fees as far as I know.

 

Im just looking to find reliable suppliers in US who sell and send the car, ofcourse I would be looking for the cleanest possible example for the best possible price
