Brake Pad Question

Recommended Posts

I'm just trying to fit new brakepads on the rear axel. I have taken the old ones off but two of the new pads have a spring shaped clip that is already attached, but it isn't attached on the old brake pads that I am removing. Can anyone tell me what they are for or if they are required for specific sides? I have nothing visible that is showing that they are needed?

Sorry - don't have the time to do a search as the car is surrounded by tools etc... outside.

Thanks

changed my rear pads 2 days ago, on the OLD ones one did and one didnt have the little clip things on each side but all 4 NEW ones did,

i just fitted the all facing to the rear, if you lay the new pads on the floor face down you should see 2 sets of 2 different shaps you need one of each on each side i think they fit with the clips either way on but i like things to be the same :D i think thats what your asking:D

i just re read your post an realised i cant read:( :taped:

on the old pads none had clips

so on the new pads 2 have clips and 2 dont

you want one with a clip and one witout a clip on each side;) mine came on with the pads without a clip was on the inside of the brake disk, ones with a clip on the outside ( closest to you as you look at it):D:d
