Sky+ Question

I've got a regular sky box at the moment and was hoping to get a sky+ one soon, but I've just found out that you need two coax cables coming from the dish to the box. I've recently redecorated my living room and ran all the cables etc behind the skirting and below the floor so it would be a major job to put in another one now.

Will a Sky+ box work with the original single coax cable at the expense of losing the ability to watch and record different channels at once, or will it just not work at all?

Maybe but then there is no point having sky + is there ??

I just want it so I can pause live telly and record the odd few things when I'm not in and I'm not really bothered about the different channel thing. I thought I'd just be able to buy a box off ebay and plug it in?

Maybe that would be the best way, but I dont think you will get Sky to fit it officially ?, there must be a sky fitter on here somewhere :search:

I already had twin coax installed but the point I was trying make was that you dont need a sky engineer to come out ;)

Ok, cheers. :) I didn't think I'd need someone to come out. Just need someone to confirm it'll work with one cable now....... :D
