Just sand it down as necessary (not much), use halfords grey primer (a few coats), leave to dry for 24 hours, then use a few coats of your chosen colour (halfords do most car colours as spray) and finally a couple of light coats of halfords lacquer.

 

EDIT: Sounds like a bl**dy halfords commercial!
