Guest frazman
**noticed mistake in title - supposed to read 'not boosting'** Hi All i've just aquired a manual 93 TT . Drove it for a shortish journey today it drove well holding boost nicely and very quick. However occasionly the boost doesn't seem to come on at all? ie acceleration is very flat - no warning lights on dash that i noticed? It's got an 'Electroic Valve Controller' and a ' Field Boxer' (fuel adjustment?!) fitted - i suspect the settings on these may have something to do with the occasional boost drop? A friend has also suggested the 'sequential' valves sometimes cause probs on these - whatever that means!! Does anyone know anything about these units or what the problem might be? or can anyone recommend someone reliable to look at it in the Bath/Bristol area? Anything else i can check that might cause this problem? Regards Fraz

Guest frazman
could anything else obvious be causing this problem - other than fuel? I haven't had a chance to use up the fuel yet and replace it yet.
Chris and Alana
I had a problem where the second turbo would sometimes decide it didnt want to work. Turned out to be a bust wategate vsv. If you know where your looking and are confidant removing the little buggers blow down one end of the vsv and run 12v through it and it should open. If it doesnt it's broke. You can also do resistance checks across the terminals etc witha multimeter but running 12v through it should do.
Guest frazman
ok i will get someone in the know to have a look at that thanks ChrisandA - How much does a replacement wastegate VSV cost roughly? reagrds fraz
Chris and Alana
I managed to get a second hand one from some kind soul from this site. cost me £33 inc delivery I beleive they are quite expensive new though. If it turns out to be a broke wategate vsv you could either replace it or buy an electronic boost controller that takes the place of the wastegate vsv. Steviekid
Will the "electronic valve controller" mentioned in post 1 not most likely be an EBC? If so the wastegate VSV will be long gone.
