Guest cj748
With 18" wheel i have 245/40 on front and 275/35 on rear. Is this correct? I thought front profile should look smaller than on rear as percentage of width was deciding factor. If that makes sense! In simple terms, when you stand at side of car, front tyre profile should look 'skinnier', more 'elastic band like' than the rear. Or have i got this arse about face? Thanks CJ:Pling:

Supra-Brett
(245/100)x40 = 98mm (275/100) x 35 = 96.25mm There should be 1.75mm difference between the 2. They shouldnt be any difference ebtween the 2 really so its spot on (unless you want the drag car look)
Guest cj748
Thanks. Tyres were on when i bought in December, and was concerned that it was wrong due to front looking a bit high on profile. I can rest at ease, as that means speedo will be reading ok. CJ

Even though the side wall ratio reduces when you up the wheel size, the 18s will have a bigger rolling radius than the standard 17 or 16s on the supes. I found a good website once that worked it all out for you. I wil try and find it again and post it.
Supra-Brett
Couldnet find the one i was after but found another that does the same thing Std Supra tyres are 245/45/16 at rear Yours are 275/35/18 You will see that yours are slightly bigger but not much. To be honest, i thought there would be more difference than that but never mind. The website i was after then calculated the difference that your speedo would be out so that you could work out what it was displaying and what you were actually doing (assuming the speedo is accurate) http://www.club80-90syncro.co.uk/Syncro_website/TechnicalPages/TRC%20calculator.htm
