imi-7
Can anyone recommend a decent hotel to stay in Paris? Me and the better half have booked our Eurostar tickets over the Easter weekend, and are looking at a number of places to stay. Budget is around £70/room/night +/- a few £££. Hilton in La Defense is going for £82/night, but how far is this from the main attractions??? Is Gare du Nord a nice area to stay in??? Cheers!! Multics
La Defence is a office area, nothing to see really. I don't know about gare du Nord. If you want something more "traditional" try the Montmartre area or near Porte de Bercy, I stayed a few nights at the Sofitel there very nice hotel. tooquicktostop
You wont get much for £70 a night in Paris I am afraid unless it is very basic or away from the attractions

Maybe this will help a little mate, it will give an indication anyway, it of course does not help the fact you are going over the very busy bank holiday which makes deals very hard to come by http://www.lastminute.com/site/travel/hotels/hotels-results.html?skin=engb.lastminute.com&lmnRooms=1&returnURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lastminute.com%2Fsite%2Ftravel%2Fhotels%2Fhomepage_lastminute_en_gb.html&preserveName-CATEGORY=hotels&preserveName-requestURL=%2Fsite%2Ftravel%2Fhotels%2Fhomepage_lastminute_en_gb.html&lmnShowRestaurants=True&lmnCheckOutDay=24&lmnLengthOfStay=3&lmnRoom2ChildAge2=-1&lmnCheckInDay=21&lmnRoom2ChildAge1=-1&lmnRoom3ChildAge1=-1&lmnChildrenRoom3=0&lmnChildrenRoom2=0&lmnChildrenRoom1=0&preserveName-CATID=4&lmnRoom3ChildAge3=-1&lmnRoom2ChildAge3=-1&lmnHotelName=&lmnCheckInMonth=3&method=hotelsFullSearch&lmnRoom2ChildAge4=-1&lmnCheckOutMonth=3&CATID=4&preserveName-SEARCH=basic&lmnRoom3ChildAge2=-1&errorURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lastminute.com%2Fsite%2Ftravel%2Fhotels%2Ferror.html&filterResultsBy=all&searchTypeName=cityName&lmnCountry=FR%7CFRANCE%7CFRANCE&lmnAdultsRoom3=2&lmnAdultsRoom2=2&lmnAdultsRoom1=2&lmnRoom1ChildAge3=-1&lmnRoom1ChildAge2=-1&lmnRoom1ChildAge1=-1&lmnLocation=paris&lmnRoom3ChildAge4=-1&lmnRoom1ChildAge4=-1&preserveName-skin=engb.lastminute.com
