hadyn
If you run a vent to atmosphere BOV on a TT Supra do you run the risk of damaging the catalytic convertor? Has anyone had a vent to atmos BOV on their supe and still run the cats, and manage to pass MOTs ok?
Jake
Yeah loads of folks here run Vent-to-Atmos BOVs without any problems. What would the cats have to do with it anyway?
hadyn
well i own an S14 200SX and they run hotwire AFMs which cause temporary overfuelling when you lift off if you run a vent to atmos bov. This excess fuel is chucked down the manifold and ignites causing nice nissan style flamage when you're decatted. Unfortunately with a cat in place it takes the punishment from all this ignition and presumably becomes damaged quickly... Obviously you dont get this with j-spec tts then? tDR
hadyn - nope, no AFM on the j-spec tt's - they use the MAP sensor in the intake manifold to work out how much fuel to add. So no SX stylee overfuelling flameage. How's the s14 sale going? Just realised you were hadyn from sxoc - you seen the light and decided Toyota makes the better cars? Jake - check my avatar pic for the punishment a cat gets in an SX Cheers, Brian.
