  1. Apologies if this is in the wrong area! Afternoon all! The weather today has made me realise how much I'm missing the soop! I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment in regards to the best way of getting it back on the road...the big rod end bearing (i believe) has gone on my current 2JZ-GE, which from researching, people are saying I'm better off replacing the engine, with that being said I'm also looking at turbo'ing when replacing the engine, I'm struggling to find a garage that can assist me so thought I'd post up here to see any recommendations? The car would need to be towed or recovered to a garage which isn't an issue but I'm trying to find a few places in the midlands area that can maybe assist with my project, I don't want an all out big BHP machine lol, just a nice little set up that I can use on a daily basis, I've heard anywhere between 300-400bhp is sensible? Looking for someone who I can recover the car to and carry out a turbo conversion? Any assistance from you guys or recommendation that won't break my bank (us youngsters always want something for nothing Thanks Zack
  2. Thanks guys! I'll fit the new fan when it comes and then let you guys know if it solved, crazy how something like that can have such an impact!
  3. The outer ring did hit the fan an take a chunk out of a couple of pieces on the fan blades, I've ordered another one so just waiting for that to get here
  4. hi guys, Thanks for all the replies, it was a new crank pulley from keron. when the outer ring came off the old crank pulley it was probably running for around 15 mins after that, i looked and just saw a loose belt and aimed to get it home (which i did very slowly). i will try and get a video up tonight or tomorrow of the car running. tomorrow is my day off work so I'll be speaking to my mechanic to see if he can have a look again and see if he can spot anything. i read on a forum that the bolt needs to be torqued (330 i believe) is this correct?
  5. you guys think I'll need a new crank pulley? problem i have is that around by me there doesn't seem to be anyone who is like a Japanese specialist (not that i know of, i live just outside of Birmingham) - also, whats the harmonic balancer then? because I've heard about it, is it part of the crank pulley?
  6. I checked before and did notice a bit of wobble on the pulley, is it that he hasn't torqued it correctly?
  7. Hi all, As the title states, crank pulley issues! I've had a look on the forum and tried to search for the same problem but due to me just being a complete and utter tool, I have no idea if the harmonic balancer is the part that's causing me grief.. So, it started when I the outer ring of the crank pulley came away (common problem) got a replacement from keron, got my mechanic to fit it however, now I feel a vibration when climbing through the revs? My cars a n/a manual, btw. Even when in neutral and I accelerate, I feel the steering wheel vibrate kind of thing. The mechanic who done the work doesn't specialise in jap cars but I've trusted him with all my previous cars. Any ideas on what it could be? I do apologise if my post is vague or if I'm not using the right names for parts lol but any help would be appreciated! Thanks
  8. Hi everyone, I'm the newbie that hasn't learnt how to use the search bar yet! Lol, looking for my first supra, always loved everything about them and what better place to start my search than here! Thanks Zack
