  1. Found a temp fix to my problem : I took apart the dash and on top of the key ignition cylinder is the solenoid box. It's a bit hard to see but it has 2 blue wires coming from it with a thick wire insulator on it. Followed it way down behind the dash almost to the kick panel and just unplugged it. Tada solenoid deactivated. Key still locked in ignition when in ACC and ON like it should. Only difference is that I can turn the car to "LOCK" in any gear which I wouldn't be doing anyways. So I'll probably have the solenoid looked at when it gets warmer out.
  2. Hello, I have a 93 j-spec auto TT with a key stuck in the ignition problem. When I go into "P" I can turn the key to acc and the engine shuts off like normal but I can't turn the key to lock to take the key out. The solenoid for the interlock is still activated. I CAN take my key out if I take the neg off the battery then turn the key to lock to remove it. That's what I have been doing for the past few days which is really annoying everywhere I go. Prior to this nothing has been changed or touched on the car. It just randomly started happening a few days ago. Car does start fine and dashboard illuminates proper gear. Things I have checked and tried: A member on this forum suggest to adjust the white angled piece inside the auto gear selector handle and move it lower and higher to see if it will help catch the "P" sensor so the car knows its in P to release the key. Checked for all the fuses everything ok. Pulled apart dash everything looks intact. Tried jamming gear into park and wiggling gear selector. Tried moving steering wheel left and right (doesn't lock because in acc mode). I've ran a few searches but can't seem to find an answer to my problem. It's gotta be something simple because it just went. I don't think I need a new ignition barrel. Does anyone know where I can find the connector or wire for the ignition solenoid? Or know how this is solved. Very frustrated I've looked in the service manual and couldn't really find any helpful information. Arv
  3. Yes it is, it looks identical to the one I JUST removed the other week on my TT =)
  4. Update: I finally got my car to the shop to get some work done. We removed the 1st cat and fitted a 2.25" short downpipe to a 3" flex pipe that met with my 3" 2nd decat. Overall a very quick and simple job, just had to wait to get that flex pipe from another shop. I pulled the fuses for a quick reset for EFI 1 and 2 and gave it a good drive on the highway. I noticed right away first turbo spooled up nice and smooth and quite loud then when the second turbo went on it kicked my ass haha. I was seeing a high spike at around 17 almost 18 psi. It seems high but I think it is with our temps in my city. Right now we are at -34C. So when it warms up in a few months it should be quite fun. So far everything is running great and it's a lot of fun! I also have a Rush Racing Antilag unit from http://www.rushracingdev.com heading my way in the mail, I'll make a post when I get that in about it. Cheers!
  5. Thanks for the input guys! Actually I was considering a route like what Rinus was saying. I don't easy access to ordering the ring and it's very cheap and easy to try out the 2 inch pipe for now to see how that works. Or I guess something like what Nic said and start off big and taper down to 2" then meet up with my 3" mid pipe all the way out. I think I'll try that tomorrow if I have time and see how it works. I'll let you all know how it goes!
  6. Thanks guys! I'm actually crazy enough to drive during our winter and running Blizzak snow tyres on stock USDM rims I bought off my friend. Supra feels great and I give her a daily wash

  8. Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hello! I haven't gotten the chance to post till today but I've been registered since summer I have a J-spec 93 Black TT! I've had it since early spring 09' and it's been great! This forum is very informative and it looks like a great community! Here's some iPhone pics that were taken! Hopefully they show up. http://img716.imageshack.us/i/img3206.jpg/ http://img689.imageshack.us/i/img3203z.jpg/ http://img193.imageshack.us/i/img3201n.jpg/
  9. Hi everyone! My name is Arvin and I'm in Canada. I have a 93 J-spec MKIV TT and I was looking at options to support my decat. I have all other supporting BPU mods. Problem is that ordering the pipes seem to be all from UK which is a bit of a problem and some of the places I have been looking at to order don't ship to Canada plus shipping is expensive as hell! So far temporarily a local performance exhaust shop has installed a 3" straight pipe from my 1st cat back to my HKS Hi-power cat back. At the moment the 1st cat is giving me enough restriction to hold at around just over 1 bar. Now I want to complete the exhaust by removing the first cat at the shop and was wondering if fitting in a 2" pipe in place of the 1st cat good enough to avoid overboosting? Or what can I do to simulate the restriction that the restrictor ring would provide? Thanks
