  1. yes thats why i asked the question in the first place if i can put a intercooler wider but shorter in height over 1/3 its area will be covered which makes it efficient but the question is how wide mm is allowed on a supra 600mm max ?
  2. Sorry for not mentioning i was talking about front mount intercooler.
  3. Would anyone know max dimensions (LxHxW) of an intercooler core that can fit ?
  4. Really really good information thanks!
  5. why is stainless steel more common than cast manifold all the kits a browsed cast is usually cheaper why do people go for stainless steel manifolds ?
  6. I have been reading recently about turbo manifolds because i am looking to buy one my question is: What kind of turbo manifold would be the strongest and can withstand great abuse like anti-lag ? because i am thinking of running launch retard 2 step what grade manifolds can survive and how long for say 2-3 seconds of launch retard anti-lag overall what i'm trying to say is i will use ignition retard but i don't want my manifold to go boom i wont abuse it much though i know that but i need something that can withstand at least a little abuse and not for extended periods. So i have heard inconel 625 is the best material whifbitz makes his manifold from 304 stainless steel what i am looking forward to buy is 321 stainless steel Can anyone provide any info over these ? thanks in advance.
  7. that really makes sense thank you so much its good to have this forum and people like you
  8. i would go single if i could but for that i need at least £8k which i do not have right now. I will go with whifbitz hybrids and eventually will get a single turbo kit. i needed that information so thanks a lot, do you have any idea where i can get a restrictor ring or is it a simple thing that can be made ?i do not drive my supra much did around 500 kilometres in 8 months so ofcourse there wont be much gain but i would run my car in 1.4 bar since i am not worried about turbo life.
  9. I am truly sorry for not giving enough details let me be more specific here, reason i called my car bpu was because it pushes 1 bar and it came with sard analayse ecu ( like mines ecu) carbonetic (ats & across) twin plate clutch hks induction system hks evc4 boost controller pretty much basic performance upgrades but for some reason they kept the exhaust system stock i got aem infinity 8 with plug and play harness 5 bar map sensor and wideband its all installed and waiting for the rest now i will be getting aem 320lph fuel pump sard 800cc injectors ngk sparks and hybrid turbos with whifbitz intercooler so i doubt i will be having problems with cooling the air or not flowing enough fuel so the only problem here is the exhausts i will have to ask again after all these would it still be a problem to remove catalytic converters ? do i still need to fit a restrictor ring ? car has around 60k miles 100102km exactly and turbos are operating in true twin mode i cannot remember any more details feel free to ask and thanks for the information!
  10. Hello everyone, I currently own a 1996 jdm bpu mkiv, the exhaust system it has is not stock but some sort of bpu exhaust system. I want to get rid of catalytic converters question is will it over boost ? I am going to buy Whifbitz hybrid turbos which can be pushed up to 1.4 bar as it says on the description would that change anything ? (whatever the answer is still going to buy them because my turbos are old and i believe they are good replacement ) Coming out from exhaust manifold there is the first catalytic converter then pipe follows the 2. one middle muffler/converter ( i really do not know if the middle one is a muffler or converter) and there it connects to hks silent type (type-s) muffler So my plan is to delete the first catalytic converter and the middle one and keep the hks muffler replace the middle one and first one with pipes will it work will my car over boost also i have hks evc 4 boost controller which has a max safe boost setting where it limits the boost (apparently) please help any information is strongly appreciated thanks in advance.
  11. i am pretty sure its not about that because i got the car 6 months ago and i was driving it until i switched to aem infintiy 8 and it pulled fine on 1 bar with stable boost after ~4000 rpm on stock ecu no one messed with the sequential system after i got the car and again i am pretty sure it was on parallel mode and no one messed with that place ever so if you are saying it can switch itself back to the sequential mode then i would accept it and as far as i know parallel mode is necessary because even the slightest upgrade on car messes with the sequential system and it becomes inoperable.
  12. Car was parallel when i bought it i could tell from the boost coming it used to pull fine 1 bar of boost had sard ecu before and still has hks evc 4 boost controller
  13. It is still running in parallel mode i know it sounds like its in sequential but its not engine revs up to 7000rpm fine but boost goes down boost is not stable up to 4000rpm either it hits 0.5 then other pull 0.9 and after 4000rpm no boost at all
  14. 1996 rz bpu j-spec with aem infinity-8 turbos parallel mode Whilst tuning on dyno today after hitting certain level of boost around 4000 rpm-4200 (0.9-1.0 bar) boost drops rapidly after 4300 and there was no boost at all like 0.2 max we checked for leaks there was none, tuner said catalytic converter could be blocked i have a sort of bpu exhaust system it was on the car when i bought it has 2 cats and after that its hks type s muffler no matter what we did we could not get any boost nor power after 4000 rpm car was pushing 185whp which is a joke there is OBVIOUSLY something wrong here i need to know before i start tearing everything apart could it be the turbos ? or catalytic converters ? waste gates ? and also if i remove 2 cats and replace it with normal pipes would my car go into over-boost ? please help because i'm really stuck and totally feel like sh*t.
  15. so i'm guessing certain areas in vacuum has lower values than the idle area in ignition map ? say below ~100kpa car idles at ~30kpa at ~10degBtdc ~800rpm so normally i guess it would be 35 ~ 40degBtdc below ~30kpa but when aiming for wrc type antilag to keep the turbos spooling at 3000~6000rpm below ~100kpa they retard the ignition by ~40degrees ?
