Matt T
Ouch, did you take other engine temps? I would think a general high engine temp has caused most of the heat soak. Vents/scoops will help, a good intake will help, maybe some heatproof materioal round the ic pipe?
supRo
I had a top secret bonnet put on - I haven't taken any measurements but the engine is definitely cooler
JohnA
A cheap and effective way is to wrap it with a heat-reflective insulating product. In the past I've used such products meant for reflecting the heat from behind radiators (B&Q etc) My favourite is a kind of carpet underlay which is slightly thicker than the above, but more flexible and reusable. It is like rockwool compressed on the back of a heat-reflective material. Quite pricey for laying under the whole house, but you'll only need a square meter or two, so it's nothing. Cut to shape and hold in place with cable ties. It was very effective in keeping post-intercooler pipes from picking up heat again.
