Heater/Air con problem???? (warning quite long)

Last week i had to leave the house at about 5.30 am for work, so being quite chilly and me being bright and wearing a pair of shorts :looney: i had to turn the heating control up, It didn't seem to get any warmer and i didn't really think any more of it.

Anyway i'd got in the car a few days later and started driving i heard a faint noise, i turned the stereo off and could hear a "beep beep beep beep" tone coming from behind the heater controls???? not particularly loud though a definite sort of warning tone!

Anyway having to drive about 125 miles i went in to the nearest garage which happened to be a Ford garage, and they listened and said it's definitely heater related and it will be fine to drive, so when i got home i went to mr T's and they said it could be a rearstat???

Anyway just to throw a spanner in the works, i was driving along with the g/f in the car and the air con was on and she said she felt cold water on her ankle???

Does this mean the heater matrix is knackered? blocked pipe/leaking pipe?

If so how do you check?

Any help would be great, cheers!

If you've got water in the passenger footwell it could be nothing else but a leak from either the heater matrix , the pipes or other stuff connected , whatever the cause of the leak it would have to be investigated.

Dashboard out to get access, time consuming! :(

Your coolant level would start to go down!
