Timing Belt Change - All the parts that could be changed at the same time

Hi Guys.

I am re-licencing my Supra, so its going for a safety inspection (kind of like the MOT).

One of the items that was flagged for change was the timing belt.

So I decided to change whatever else I can change at the same time.

After reading some of the threads on here this is what I came up with.

- Timing Belt and tensioner and idler

- Fanbelt and tensioner

- Crank pulley damper and key

- Timing gear and key

- Cam pulley swap to my JUN pulleys.

- Water pump

Have I covered everything?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks.

Why change crank gear?

Was just thinking that since it is coming off, might as well replace it?

If you're going crazy and money isn't an object, why not simply replace/refurb everything removable from the front of the motor (i.e. oil pump, alternator, airconditioning, powersteering)?

Trying not to go overboard, just want cover all the common issues so I dont have to do it again.

There is no leak on the oil pump front seal so I am nervous to disturb it.

Depends on the mileage and condition of the engine - IIRC the oil pump wears from the inside.

As I said, it depends on how far you want to go... you can replace every seal on the motor if you want!
