Steering Shaking at 80mph +

Hi all,

Iv got a bit of a problem with my steering wheel shaking at 80mph + it goes from side to side, iv just come back from getting the wheels balanced and checked all ok.

Iv checked alot of threads regarding this, and all point to balancing, but iv proven that one out.

Just wondering what else it could be??

My rear tyres are pretty worn, so ordering some today could this be the cause??

Or could it be something mechanical??

Cheers All.

Tracking and Wheel alignment have been done, alignment was out as i had inside wear on front wheels, this has been fixed.

Iv got just a tad of slight play from driver side wheel, could this be the rod end?? Wheel bearing??

Any help would be great guys.

I've had this twice. 1st, was a hundred miles after balanciong and a weight had come off, 2nd time the interpro guys found a bulge on the inner tyre wall like half a tennis ball which some pot hole must have caused.

Hope you sort it mate as it's a real PITA.

I'd thought that would only happen when braking mate?

I get this too, so will get my car 4 wheel aligned soon by Jody, still meaning to give him a call and book it in.... I'm hoping that will solve mine, only thing I haven't had done now...

let us know how u get on dude?? Might give me an idea to whats up with mine??
