BBS Wheel Fitment

Folks,

Just a query on fitting BBS wheels to the Supra.

Firstly do BBS make wheels to fit the car? I've see a few fitted on Supra's, has this been with adaptors?

I'm getting responses back from alloy suppliers that states BBS don't make them to fit the car... Possibly in Japan you may be able to find the size.

Can you guys confirm the info below is correct?

I have been looking at CH's and LM's

I believe the bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3?

I should be looking at the following size, widths and offsets?

Front Size: 18 x 9 (42mm offset)

Rear Size: 18 x 10 (50mm offset)

I believe the Supra Spigot diameter is 60.1?

Many thanks in advance!

Neil

The PCD (bolt pattern) is correct and the sizes/offsets are okay.

The thing you will need to check is if the wheels will clear your brake calipers. The Supra came with 2 brake options the smaller F-2pot/R-1pot and the larger F-4pot/R-2pot. If you have the larger brakes fitted you will need to check if there is enough clearance between the front face of the brake calipers and the rear face of the wheel spokes. If you're not sure which brakes you have post some pics so we can identify which they are.

Some replies I have had...

"The CH is only made in 5x114.3 in an 18x8.0 ET38, and the LM from Germany for the UK market is only made in a 5x112 (closest to 5x114.3) but et’s are low so not ideal."

"BBS Germany do not offer any wheel for Toyota Supra. It may be possible to get the BBS LM wheel from Japan but it is much more expensive than the CH wheels"

The UK 4 pot jobbies Nic.

In that case you may have problems with those offsets, the BBS LM wheels are quite dished so there is less clearance, I'm pretty sure in those sizes/offsets that they wouldn't clear the larger brakes. The BBS CH wheels have a lot more clearance, they *may* fit in those sizes/offsets, but best to check by test fitting them first. A lower offset of around 35-40 would move the wheel outwards allowing more clearance.

Do you have any idea on the offsets I should be looking at, to clear with UK callipers?

I guess the two different styles of the LM and CH make it a little hard to call?

The width and offset required to clear the calipers varies depending on the wheel design. I'm not sure if anyone has got a dimensioned template of the caliper you can work from. Alternatively you could remove a wheel and measure from the face of the hub (the surface the wheel bolts against) to the outer surface of the caliper, if you gave this dimension to any decent wheel supplier they would be able to advise on offset needed.

Do you have a link to the wheel sizes and offsets that each wheel is available in?

I got 18" BBS LMs in my car but i dont have a clue what the offset is..

You will find all the details between the bolts on the wheel if they are genuine. I had them stamped into mine, I'll see if I can find the details.

Found it! My tyres were 275 rear and 235 front with perfect fitment. I know all this as I sold my LM's this year.

The sizes are stil there.

Rear: 10Jx18 H2 ET50

Front: 9Jx18 H2 ET42

Okay. I will check that. I know they are 9J x18 at the back and 8J x18 in the front. I allso have 355mm Brembo brakes in the front with 4 pot calibers and uk supra rear brakes. In the front between the rim and the brake caliber there is about 5mm so they fit like a clove ;) I will have to get back with the ET...

Myself and Jimojameso both have 18' BBS LM's with U.k brakes, however I have almost twice the clearance than james , and neither of us are using spacers. I recently had mine refurbished by a guy who specialises in BBS and he told me that mine are a rare 'Jap Fitment'. I have no idea how true this is but there is a noticeable difference on clearance.

You can just make out the numbers on these pics of my wheels which my help
