Epic
I got a reciept to say when it was sent, where from, how much it cost, weight etc.. just not a tracker number
R Black
If after a period paypal deem you being in the wrong, i thought paypal would debit your named account/credit card to the amount. I always get proof of postage, build it into the price if i have to, that way i'm covered period.

Matt H
Id never send anything abroad. But sounds like your in a shitter. what are the laws with debt collection?! dont they have to take you to court or something before they can just barge in with a request for money? Epic
Well they guy on the phone said he was going to have to add a change to the amount and hand it back to paypal to see what they want to do with it and it they want to take matter any higher
Rayman
This happened to me, although slightly different circumstances, im unsure what lengths they will go to tho, it is bs how the seller is punished automatically even when you have proof of postage, paypals t & cs have no common sense involved and the paypal helpline is in another country so all they do is quote the t & c's to you in half broken english. marbleapple
Without a tracking number you are screwed (sorry to be blunt). Phones are the most dodgy things on eBay with the number of con artists etc. They always try that trick (or the 'can you post to Nigeria' one). Never Ever sell anything over £32 (standard RM insurance) without a tracking number (especially phones). If you do not have a tracking number, paypal can't prove that the buyer has the item and thus they refund him and then you owe them the money. They have the legal power to do this and you accept it as it's in their terms and conditions.
marbleapple
the paypal helpline is in another country so all they do is quote the t & c's to you in half broken english. The Irish are not that hard to understand :)
SBDJ
Have a look round on this site: http://www.paypalsucks.com/forums/showforum.php?fid=17 Theres a few posts on there about dealing with these situations... as above though, not sure what the score is with no insurance and no tracking number... JamesG
Sadly, I think everyone here is correct. All you can really do is pay PayPal back and put it down to experience. When you sell something on ebay, the optional insurance isn't for the buyer's protection - it's for the seller. It's your responsibility to ensure the buyer receives their goods. Even if you don't have insurance for the postage, your responsibility to the buyer is the same.
