prep before spraying ?

what is needed to be done if i wanted to change the colour? sand it but how far back ? if i wanted the car tangoed i.e. gallardo orange, what kind primer would i need? how many coats of primer and colour then lauqer

Primer wont be needed. it will be needed on areas that have had filler put on. but then the paint should just need flatting before the new colour goes ontop. you can save yourself a fortune in bodyshop fee's by doing this. as it can take up an entire day or two

i removed the door handles/headlights/door mirrors/ all rubber trimming around doors and tailgate and also quarter panel glass off the car to save money on the spray job. and let the bodyshop do the prep work, as IF things go wrong then they cannot blame you by blaming the prep work;)

well i want to take the car to pieces and let them spray it, i will be meeting my mates bro in law(a german) to see if he will let me do the colour change when i put the car in to be fixed , i really need the aerotop and the bonnet sprayed again anyway and if the rear bumper,new bomex spatz and rear wings are needing sprayed to repair the damage then its only the doors, front wings, side skirts and front bumper are left to do but if i feel ok and can put in some spanner time to take the car to pieces, need to meet the guy and see what he says , really want to get the car looking sweet this time round
