b_have Posted November 14, 2007 Share Posted November 14, 2007 BLOODY PAYPAL! For some reason, they decide to pay all my purchases with e-cheques (take 9 days to clear!) Sent them 4 mails to "customer support" (laughable) with no reply or aknowledgment, so call them and wait 35 mins on their poxy 0870 number with no answer. So decide to get up at 5:45am to call them when they are less busy, get through to some twat (sounds about 12) who tells me that he will sort it and all will clear today. I once went so far as taking them to court before I actually had a person from paypal ringing me up to fix the mess his employes had made. Cleared eventually! Happened again on another purchase, wasnt happy then! Went onto paypal and checked all the details and my paypal was linked to my old (expired) card! Hence the use of echeques! Went onto paypal and checked all the details and my paypal was linked to my old (expired) card! Hence the use of echeques! Fixed it up with new details and is all good instant transfers etc! Because despite all these stories which you keep hearing, people carry on using the service. You must have seen all the horror stories which have come up before, no? There's whole websites dedicated to people who've been screwed by PayPal. The number of people even on this website who've reported being done by them is probably into double figures. Personally, I wouldn't touch PayPal with a bargepole. Yet people carry on ignoring all the bad press and keep using the service. I bet despite your post, there's plenty of readers here thinking, "well - I've never had a problem with them". And they'll carry on thinking that..... until they're the one who gets caught out. I also hate them becuase they keep making everyone use these e-cheques and customers get mad at me as I won't send items till it's cleared which can take up to a month! It takes a lot to get me really angry but right now my blood is boiling! 4 months in and I have FINALLY got an email from them, telling me that what I need to do is to use the online password recovery and verify my credit card details. EVENTHOUGH I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM WAS THAT I DON'T HAVE THAT CARD ANYMORE HENSE THE BEGINNING OF THE ISSUE. Now I have another one saying thanks for sending my proof of id but the only thing they can do is close my account!!!!!!!! No mention of how they are going to return my money that is in the account.
