The girlfriend and I are thinking of joining the local one despite the fact that it's a bit too poncy for me. Went for a look around the other week and was shown around by your typical slimey salesman who at the end scribbled prices on the back of the brochure muttering that classic line "special offer price runs out soon" my arse it does, tw*t. Anyway he quoted us £108 per month for joint with a £70 joining fee But other people I know there are paying £45 per month for single membership and others £55. All full membership not off peak. If anyone here is a member what do you pay? There is no way I am going to pay anything close to £108 per month and a £70 joining fee for a poncy gym. bmx1lew Posted November 14, 2007 Share Posted November 14, 2007 i would avoid them, if you want to cancell you have to give 3 month's notice after the 12 monmth contract, i joined a cheap gym for £23 a month and found it was allot better, i found with vannatynes there was allot of snobs and nobs people, allot of posers, were as i found in the cheap gym the people were allot more friendly and happy to buddy up, buddy up meaning help push each other some one to compete against. Big Mark Posted November 14, 2007 Author Share Posted November 14, 2007 I know all the local gyms, the one I used to work in until last month has the best freeweights but I don't work there anymore and don't particulaly want to train there. Other than that there is the local council place, a tiny private gym that is really poor, a local boxing gym that I already go to but doesn't have weights or Bannatynes. Bannatynes has lots of classes (for the gf), pool (won't use it), sauna, steamroom and jacuzzi, loads of new cardio equipment and a good weight selelction. So you see, no choice. I know they won't let you cancel your contract but no gym does these days. Anyway I just wanted to know what people that DO go there pay. I've got a mate that trains there already and he is going to see if he can sort me out a deal (no idea how) but if your brother could sort something that would be even better. Looking to start on the 1st of December. Am I right in thinking it doesn't matter which one I join because as a Bannatynes member I can use any Bannatynes?
