Godmutha
They are the levels its supposed to be at depending on whether the engine is hot or cold
supradriver
ow right so should it be at the top of it or the bottom (the words hot or cold because its in a little box)
Godmutha
near to the top but not overfull.... similarly to the oil. If you wipe the stick with a rag, and then put in back in and screw it shut, then take it out again, you'll see what the level's sitting at, then just top up accordingly

Steve
thanks m8 i have had some well strange noise coming from it now i know its low thanks alot m8 thought it was the pump or somet Probably got some air in the system if you are getting some noises. Top up the fluid, start the car and slowly turn the wheel from lock to lock a few times. That should get the air out.
Godmutha
No worries If it keeps making the grinding noise and the steering goes heavy, check under the car for leaks.... If you do have a leak, let me know as I can help. Hopefully though, it will just be low on fluid

Godmutha
it should wear off.... if the fluid level was low for a while, it will take a little time to get back through the system completely..... give it a day or so

juanchan
I had a major power steering leak back in the summer. After fixing it and topping it up with fluid, it took quite a while for all the odd noises the pump was making to stop. It should improve over time, providing you haven't got a big leak.
