DannoSupra
Has anyone experienced Turbo Surge on 1st tubby before? This is what happens. From 2000rpm, 100% Throttle in 3rd, to say 4000rpm, maybe 4500rpm. It bounces between 1Bar and 1.1Bar. Then as soon as the 2nd turbo is about to kick in, it drops to 0.7 then she kicks in up to 1.2Bar Here's a vid i did on the way home from work. Hope it'll work: http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j75/DannoSupra/?action=view¤t=12112007024.flv
Guigsy
seems backwards to me. My first turbo boosts to 0.5 bar and is hardly noticable then the 2nd one comes on it goes up to anywhere between 1 and 1.2bar. No drop between
colsoop
Do you have access to another gauge to confirm thats whats happening. That looks like a gauge issue to me.
DannoSupra
Nothing wrong with the gauge, you can feel and hear the difference as the boost fluctuates
djskeme
Mine was doing this...and it got much worse the more i drove it when the clutch and fly wheel were on the way out...it was the clutch slipping under all the power of the second turbo boost..then biting and kicking in properly. Wind up!
DannoSupra
Mines an auto though
Alex
It won't be surge....that's something else. It does sound like you have an issue with the levels of boost created by the No.1 turbo - its quite high. Check the hoses on above the turbo's towards the back and opposite the brake cylinder. DannoSupra
I have got an AVC'r on it. Has anyone got the diagram for doing all the plumbing for the vac pipes? I've lost mine :@
Mike M
Kind of sounds like the waste gate vsv isn't doing its job as that controls No-1's boost.
DannoSupra
Anyone got any vsv's they dont want? hehe
DannoSupra
I've just put the stock vac pipes back on the car now, and it worked a treat!
