R Black
I'm curious how anyone got on doing this as it is something i've been mulling over for quite some time.
hogmaw
You won't have a chance on your own, unless you have a special skill to offer that nobody in the US has - and a job to go to. Or huge $$$ to deposit in one of their banks. You'd best approach a solicitor that specialises in such things.
tooquicktostop
I had a chance to go some years ago with the company I was working with, BUT if I left the company and had not recieved a green card at that point (can take years !) you would have to come home, that really put me off, I did do plenty of work on a temp basis there though and really enjoyed it

If you take someone out with you they will be unable to get a visa on the basis that you have one, they would also need some form of sponsorship or a visa of their own (that was the case in 2000 at least). paul_y3k
cant you stay 6 months then have to come out of country for 1 day then you can go back in another 6 months. 3 months. I did this for a year when I worked in Dallas. Basically did a 3 month contract, got on plane to uk for a few days then came back for another 3 months. Customs used to stop me but I had a company letter saying I was the only one able to do the job and i was training others in the US to take over from me. Supragal
I know someone who did this themselves off their own back, they are good at their job but it wasn't something they especially needed a UK person to do but they liked her enough to sponsor her. That was a good few years ago now though. Maybe 2000ish
