However, there is a trader on here called Jezzybabes who will do the conversion for £3000 all in.

Rory
IMO its much easier to sell your car and buy a TT !
jim_supra
IMO its much easier to sell your car and buy a TT ! If you're talking about difficulty of conversion, then the full conversion can be done in two days. making it much easier and much quicker than selling/ waiting for a buyer:) If you're talking about re-sale cost, then you're right, a car that started life as a TT will be easier to sell. Smellywelshman
has anyone ever done it themself - whats the cost ? cheers 'Sophia' is with Jezz and his team as we speak. Engine has been swapped and photos should be getting posted soon. I agree that the car may be somewhat harder to sell after such a change. But as far as I'm thinking, doing this to her means that I wont be bored enough to consider changing for a looooooong time. By then she'll probably be nigh on 20 years old and I'll just end up keeping her in the garage as a hobby car. But thats just me!!

Thorin
What do your insurance company think to this, I'd be interested to know what the difference is between insurance a TT and insuring an N/A converted to a TT.
Smellywelshman
That was also my thinking when I did mine. Have you changed your mind then? I was also thinking that if I got a bit twitchy, there are LOADS of tweaks and mods you can do to the supra that will make it feel like you've had a new(ish) car. And for a fraction of the price/hassle/ballache of actually swapping. 330BHP is plenty enough for me!! for the time being that is!!!!!!!!!! Sky said they would just consider it as a TT mate.

Worked out the same as a standard TT and nearly £200 cheaper than an NA! Insurance can be odd at times:)

I'm not too bothered about the re-sale value, I am going to have the car for a good few years yet. And yes the standard power is more than enough for me... for now! jackso11
Why not just go for an NA-T conversion? isn't that better than changing the whole engine?
ttpower
apart from the engine / box is there any other diffs if you were to buy a tt ??
