wHIZz
Hi fellow Supera owners! I don't normally buy into this petition malarky but I feel strongly enough about this one that I've started one of my own on the No.10 website. Basically I, like some of you folks, own 2 vehicles. I have a scooter for travelling to work and I like to keep the Supra for weekends or that special night out. Helps keep the milage down and hey, good for the environment! What grates on me is the fact that I need to buy road tax for both the car (which sits in the driveway on weekdays) and the bike too!. I might get rid of the bike and buy a little mini for the winter commuting, I don't want to have to tax that too! Why can't I have one set of tax to cover both vehicles I own and I could switch it to the vehicle being used on the public road at that time?. I know not everyone will agree with this and that is fine. For those who agree - I'd be grateful if you guys would help me get the personal road tax petition going - and of course pass it on to your buddies! http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/singleroadtax/ wHIZz
Al Massey
sounds like a good idea but not realy thought out mate, what if both vehicles were on the road at the same time? that would mean one is not taxed and illegal.
ivan
Not a chance of getting it through either. The Govt would lose millions.
Jake
Is there any record of an online petition ever having been successful? Anyone know?

Yep, I take your point - but I'm thinking more about someone like me who has a car and a bike, I won't use them both at the same time. The wife has her own car too, and you're right, she would have to tax her car as she would be using it at the same time as I'm using my car\bike. Jake - don't know, but was hoping to contact a couple of the car mags and at least publicise the idea perhaps. Be my Supra Owners Club buds and sign up anyway so I can get more sigs on it? ivan
Now ask again for it to be backdated for all ex-forces personnel.
Al Massey
we tried, i missed out on a years worth of tax being back dated by two months, bloody gutted
Pixelfill
Interesting how you limited it to only tax. If you are only driving/riding one at a time why should you pay insurance for both ? Mike
neil tt
Signed, sounds like a good idea, but like its been said, the politicans would lose too much of their pension:)
wHIZz
Thanks Neil! Not much support from the Supra crew so far? - I thought this would be relevant to quite a few of us in here? Not relevant or do people disagree with the concept? wHIZz

Mike I wouldn't leave my car without insurance even if it was in a locked garage.
neil tt
yes but we are not on about insurance, we are on about tax, and its still a great idea:)
tichkent
Top idea. I have exactly the same issue (I own an old 323 and the Supe, and only drive one at any one time, due to only having one body!). Having to pay two road taxes is ridiculous when you think about it - especially given I only do about 10000 miles combined which is very little these days. Petition signed! wHIZz
Could really do with a petition boost from the Supra Owners Club crowd to get this petition going folks! http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/singleroadtax/ Please sign up even if you're not directly affected - and pass it on to your mates too! Many Thanks wHIZz

NeoFuture
you would get people with 5 cars parked on the road and only 1 taxed, aint gona happen !
NeoFuture
ps i do agree but it wont ever happen thats why the govenment want to tax on road usage not yearly... petitions to the govenment do not work and never get taken seriously
flukey-lukey
I have 2 cars and they're both kept on the road, so for me this wouldn't work as already said by a few others. Also which car would be taxed? the more expensive one (supra) or the least expensive one (Nexia shitter work bus) What if I had 3 cars or more?
