stupra
Just got back from testing the new 07 R1, what a machine !. I've been riding bike's since I was eight, and raced for a few year's but this thing rocked. I've not long got rid of a GSXR 1000 but the R1 was in a differant world to that, it handled like a 600, apart from wagging it's tail, or lifting it's head out of roundabout's, and down the straight's it was warp drive !, overtaking long line's of car's was so easy it was funny !. If your after a new big bore sport's bike make sure you try one of these, I assure you it will be hard to fault. I'm going to try the other big three first, GSXR, Blade, and ZX10R, and maybe an RSV Factory, but on look's alone I think the R1 might steal it. . Go on, go and test one, you'll love it. JohnA
Have you had a go on the ZX14? Bit of a bus compared to the miniature R1, but I'd be curious for a comparison...
Thorin
A BPU Supra could have it obviously
JohnA
obviously. Not a lardy, laggy UKSpec though...
DaveK
I'm not sure an R1 would suit me these days. I got a bit tired of my '99 one trying to lift the front all the time in the lower gears. I guess the new ones (lighter / more power) do it even more. Initially, I loved it - but after a few years I found it a bit tiresome. Thorin
obviously. Not a lardy, laggy UKSpec though... ...and certainly not an auto.
JohnA
...auto........ brrrrrrr The one and only time I sat on an R1 I felt like riding a kid's bike. No fairing, no mass, nothing substantial (buy I've got a blackbird a ZZR1100 and ZX750turbo before that, so used to the buslane)
stupra
Have you had a go on the ZX14? Bit of a bus compared to the miniature R1, but I'd be curious for a comparison... Yes i've ridden a ZX14 mate, (a guy I work with has one), ballistic in a straight line and i'd say hard to beat as a long distance blaster, but I get my kick's out of the corner's really. It amazes me how they keep making bike's better and better. DaveK, the new one's are faster and more agile, but a little more civilised than the older R1's. I had an original 98 model and that was vicious, alway's trying to loop the loop, the later one's are much better.
