mplavery
Hi ppl My missis was looking at one of these and on Sunday we saw one for sale out side a TW WHITES car sales. So we went and had a look round, it was a 01 plate with about 48k, blue print engine what ever that is. Anyway we thought it looked really nice and spoke to the saleperson for a test drive. To my shock he gave us the Keys, my missis left her licence and we both had a play. Well my missis was not that impressed. she has a MR2 and its about 300bhp. I thought it went a tiny bit better then her Mr2 but because it was really smooth through the rev range/not like her Mr2 she did not think we were going fast even though we were. Anyways time for my go....got in and i was sitting at the lights with loads of road ahead of me. Lights went green, rev it to 5k then took my foot of the clutch. Well cos i never really drove a four wheel drive, still thinking i CAN WHEEL SPIN...it didnt...it shot off scraming like mad with a big cloud of blue smoke.....yes clutch..lol..anyway it handle really well but no way near like my supra for speed and i only have BPU. after drivin it for 5 min it started to feel like a normal saloon and started to get bored already. So we decided to keep the MR2 as it felt sporty just by sittin in it just like the supra. Anywas a droped the car back stinking of burnt tyre and clutch......great fun..ha ha... slyspark
Good move, I just made the hideous mistake of getting an 04 plate WRX with the Prodrive performance pack. car has 63,000 miles on the clock and it's been nothing but a headache. When it's actually working, it's a nice drive, but I've had so many problems with it now that all I can think of every time I get behind the wheel is what's gonna go wrong this trip? First thing to cause me problems was the Turbo, or, every other trip in the car, lack of it as it would randomly work as and when. Took it to the Subaru dealer to have it fixed and ended up shelling out on a new waste gate, which seemed to solve the problem. 48 miles further down the road, engine warning lights started to randomly show, so back it went, this time for a new set of exhaust gas sensors. 8 miles down the road, the clutch went and back it went to the dealer, this time on an AA tow truck (AA recovery guy said he wouldn't touch a Subaru with a bargepole as he sees so many of them with problems that you just wouldn't expect for their age) Yesterday the turbo stopped working again (same fault as the first time round) and it's back to the dealer yet again tommoz for repair. So, I have to wonder what will be the next thing to fail....? So far, in just 2 months, the car has cost me over £2k in repair bills - time for it to go I think. Decided that I was stupid not to get a Supra when I was last looking for a car (it was what I wanted, but didn't happen) So, on the lookout once again

You can rev it further than that on launching, and yes, you can get the wheels to spin in the dry Good move, I just made the hideous mistake of getting an 04 plate WRX with the Prodrive performance pack. car has 63,000 miles on the clock and it's been nothing but a headache. Decided that I was stupid not to get a Supra when I was last looking for a car (it was what I wanted, but didn't happen) So, on the lookout once again I was part of the subaru owners club in South Africa for 2 years, and I nver heard of a scooby with that many issues... Biggest issue is when modifying starts. Surely an 04 is still under warranty?? Where and when did you buy it? feck i was lookin at buying a scooby last week, don't think i'll bother thats awefull say that they sound awesome!!! I actually found my WRX very reliable, 2 years of ownership and the biggest problem I had was a MAF sensor go... caused minor boost spikes.
