mak07
I am having alot of vibration thru the steering wheel when parking etc. I also get it when driving though not as bad, which originally i presumed would be the wheels needed balancing but now i am having second thoughts. Any ideas?
Guest Chumpalot
I had quite a bit of this at high speeds (80mph+). Got them balanced and all was fine. I'd suggest doing a search to find other alternative solutions to your problem, it's been documented quite well.
Nic
If you are only feeling it whilst maneuvering, it may be the power steering. Can you hear any noise whilst turning the steering wheel whilst stationary? If it is the PAS, it will either be the fluid is low and you have air in the system or the pump is on the way out. mak07
Well, when i am parking the steering wheel starts to shake, usually when it has been on full lock. I will have to listen if there are any noises when i turn the wheel. what should it be like, a low whine?
AlanM
Should be nowt if it is ok, will be a whine if it is low fluid or pump on way out as Nic says

Sounds like the power steering, it could be that the fluid is just a bit low and there is air in the system. Check fluid, top up if needed and whilst parked turn the wheel from lock to lock a few times to bleed the system. You will normally hear a 'groaning' type noise from the PAS pump if there is air in the system or it is worn, the noise will change as you turn the wheel and depending on the revs.
AlanM
Leave the top off the Resevoir when turning from lock to lock
