EdMorris
I found some old air horns that I used to have on my mini years ago, to scare old ladies. I want to fit them to my supe, but its not quite as easy as a mini fuse box (at least not for me), so I was wondering if anyone can help. I've tested the compressor and all is fine, the horns sound. I just need to work out the wiring. Its all a bit confusing to me even though I think I'm making it more difficult than it needs to be. I've attached a pic of the relay box connections (bit poor quality though), to aid explanation. Basically, I need to know where the one wire from the original horn goes. I think it must carry power (which eventually connects to the horn push), and the horn itself is the earth. If this is the case, presumably all I need to do is connect the wire I labelled 'fuse box' to this original wire in the car, earth the relay and compressor, and bobs ya uncle. Is that right? Cheers for any help.
absz
why don't you use the earth wire which is connected to the orignal horn itself.as the switch wire on pin 86. use pin 85 as a ignition postive. connect pin 30(fusebox)onto battery positive. then use pin 87 as the positive feed to the horn. ignore pin 87A. hope that makes sense:innocent:
EdMorris
Yeah it does, kinda. Just need to locate the original power wire for the horn. Thats the problem I have - where does the power come from? I could only find one wire that attaches to the horn so I presumed that was the power and the metal horn body itself was the earth. I'll have a closer look. Thanks.
imi
The single connection from the stock horn, is that the Ground or is that HOT?
