DaveK
If you haven't heard of them, they are similar to Evanescence (although apparently they have been going 10 years). If you like Evanescence, you would like them - similar to Nightwish (if you've heard them). I am off to see them in London on Sat. Apologies to the lady on Ebay who was the highest bidder right up to 10s before the auction ended.
Havard
I've heard them on Scuzz Dave. Tbh after going watching Evanescence live a couple of years ago I find a lot of these similar bands are not in the same league! That said, I wasn't overly impressed with the last album..... Hope you enjoy the gig mate!! H.
garetheves
Yup i love Within Temptation. Nearly went to see them tonight in Manchester. They are playing download this year again so waiting until then i think. New album is awesome. Nightwish are good as well but not as good as the others, but my favourite of that style are Lacuna Coil and damn the lead singer is hot. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/3391/1302621121lvm7.jpg She's the one at the front in case anyone was wondering

Am toying with the idea of going to see them in Paris in May - g/f has said she'll pay as a birthday present if I want to. Yup i love Within Temptation. Nearly went to see them tonight in Manchester. Harps
Another WT fan here Actually prefer The Silent Force to the new album, their first album (name escapes me at the mo) is good but very hit-and-miss IMO. I was somewhat surprised when I found out they weren't British! Didn't think much of Lacuna Coil but I've not listened to much to be honest. Havard
There is definitely something about metal bands with female lead singers!! I used to have a bit of a crush on Amy Lee of Evanescence but lately she's been looking a bit rough. I would imagine if we ever get together I could put a bag over her head and just let her sing to me!! I bet she can't wait!! H.

I think she's pretty good looking - however, I always feel there is a fat girl trying to get out.
garetheves
Amy Lee is also hot as is the singer from Nightwish. Damn they are all nice actually. And they have all got a great set of................lungs (for singing )
DaveK
Well, I went - I saw - I.... came away pretty disappointed. I do like their music and I was surprised that I can listen to their current CD without making comparisons to Evanescence. However - the last two gigs I've been to were Evanescence and I thought they were fantastic (although rather short) - and this just did not compare. My g/f is not a big fan of this kind of music - when it had finished I asked her what she thought, and it was exactly - almost word for word - what I thought. She said that with Evanescence, Amy Lee puts real emotion into the songs and you can really feel it. Last night, there was no emotion at all - it was just some girl singing. I didn't think it was a very positive sign about your live show when you are screening your music videos in the background as you sing - that kind of suggested to me that you know you're not entertaining enough live. And I also thought that "What have you done" (which I like a lot) was dreadful - they had no male vocalist so those parts were simply done by the background CD with the video playing. Not cool. They did have some points in their favour. Both Evanescence gigs lasted 1 hour each (in fact, I'd say nearer 55 mins) and that included the encore. Within Temptation were on for 1 hour 40 minutes (which was impressive, but I got bored at the end!). And - the lead singer does look good in a basque kind of thing. However - there is a plus point. I was debating whether to see Evanescence at some of their new European dates, and this convinced me I really should. So - will probably go to Paris and may look at a couple of other places. Within Temptation were OK - but when I saw Evanescence in Canada it was worth the cost of the trip, whereas I'm not convinced Within Temptation were worth the tickets + parking in London.
